It amazes me, mortifies me
The blinding stupidity of that statute
Ye have the right to bear arms I hear
So you can defend your quarters by law.
In the old days when you walked into a bar
And had a bout with a stranger...
The challenge laid, 'twas accepted
Over the yonder, near the tavern
Where the two met, and it all came down... to the draw and the .38 six shooter
When guilt was decided by the sleight of hand
The one who survived declared free of crime.
That was then, the 1800s...
Certainly now it's never meant to happen.
And how times have changed The west make wars to protect Their so called interests in aiding their terror friends Wars far away, away from the American children. Yet some semblance of war comes home to roost When the school is locked down by a lone gunman true You hear on the radio driving to work... Your kid's school is on the news... There's nothing you can do. You start to burn.
The teachers are then responsible to defend "Be that "good" guy with a gun... Try to shoot the "bad guy" with 'em gun.", they said. But a teacher ain't no soldier, and this ain't no war zone brother Why was the gunman so heavily armed? If not for the the NRA and the local gun grocer Perhaps this wouldn't even be in the media. And so you hear he's shot up the wall The bullets piercing through window glasses and walls Kids hunkered down... the teacher trying to defend that quarter Has no chance against the hail of semi automatic fire.
"Fortify the schools, let's secure... Arm those damn teachers... Make sure every single good guy get a gun... The second amendment is the clause of the free And you bet we are the best democracy." Says the NRA and all their political cronies. And a million gun crazed lunatics.
So, the future... in America:
You drive through several check points before you get to drop off
Your precious kids bogged down with all that Kevlar. There is no rushing, you could get shot! Even if you were running really late for work. First the ID checks by the national guards Across the road... An Abrams... The canon trained at your car. "Welcome back to school.", says a sign. And a school flag swinging in the turret of the tank. Ironically... Just above the fifty cal and the 120mm canon.
You are then waived through to the next checkpoint They ask you step down on your knees with your hands above your head. And order your kids to do exactly the same. While the army, the sheriff and the police hold your family at gunpoint each morning... To scan your car underside for possible explosives A sniffer dog checking your kids out to detect powder They then put your kids through the full body scanner. They rummage your car inside out While a medic assesses your kids before they are let in And under the constant crosshairs of every sniper on rootops. The neighborhood reminds you of Libya, Syria and Iraq.
This ain't no school It's a theatre of war... Where kids come to learn and play God bless and welcome to America.
