An Ode to the Survivors

As the few pick up the pieces from the dust that has gathered,
Or trudge from the fortress of open green fields...
Knowing the loss that the less fortunate has suffered,
It pains us to swallow a simple home meal.

But condemn shall we?

Or unite to prevail?
Shaken is our mortal self but not our beliefs
Our destiny may be carved at birth
But lives that we now lead; sure is not.

'tis an ode I write to thee, the survivors.

"A Tribute to the lives that were lost, dwellings that were destroyed and the unity we gained. In memory of the catastrophic Nepal Earthquake that struck the region on 25 April 2015"
